Height Requirements for Registration

 QUARTER PONY CATEGORIES:

(a)  Regular Registry – verified height from 11.2hh up to and including 14.2hh.

(b)  Over Height Registry - Quarter Pony verified height exceeds 14.2 hh but does not exceed 15.0 hh

As the QPAA is a height specific breed registry height verification is needed.

Height verification ages:

* Foals up to the age of 2 must register for Colt, Filly or Gelding foal recording - estimated height at maturity is required. Foals upgrading will need height verification.

* Adult applications (over 2 years of age) will be required to submit a current height verification at time of application submission; a final height verification will be required from 6 years of age and must be completed by the time the pony reaches 7 years of age.

Any registered livestock maturing over the height of 15.0 hh will no longer meet criteria and will either be de-registered or may be transferred into the Breeding Purposes Registry following an official review by the Committee.                                                              Those maturing under the height limit of 11.2hh by 7 years of age (as of 1st Aug) will be de-registered following an official review by the Committee.

The committee reserves the right to request a height check at any time.

Registration certificates will show the date a height verification is required by (if not issued with a permanent height certificate)

When a height verification is not supplied - the registration is suspended, the Quarter Pony will not be eligible to compete in classes designated for foal recorded or registered stock at shows (Quarter Pony competitions) until height has been verified.

Accepted height verification methods:

*  Vet Certificate - our preferred method is via the height verification form which is completed by a vet.

*  Height may be recorded at an official measuring day conducted by EA, Show Horse Council or at an Ag Show by an official

appointed to conduct a height measurement.

*  The Association may provide a Height Verification service either at an event or private property utilizing a measuring stick designed

for the purpose. Contact the association to arrange this service.

*  Under specific circumstances an alternative option may be arranged - should the above options not be viable please contact the

Quarter Pony Assn. Australia Inc to discuss.

Any Quarter Pony who holds a registration certificate with another Quarter Pony Association may apply to register with QPAA. Copies of the registration certificate and height certificate must be supplied with the application. New height verification may not be required if the applicant holds a valid height certificate.
