Quarter Pony Presentation
Have you seen a lineup of Quarter Ponies at a show or event? This is a great way to see the versatility of these awesome ponies as they enter the ring - you may see them presented in western equipment with their handler or rider in western clothing, others may be seen in Stock Horse type equipment and attire, you could well see Quarter Ponies being shown by a child who does pony club or they may be presented in an English style. No matter which style you choose you are representing our breed and showing the public how well-rounded Quarter Ponies are.

Therefore, as the Quarter Pony is valued as an all-round type, presentation is not limited to a western style – there are some extremely well performed Quarter Ponies representing the breed in a variety of events and disciplines, so presentation is to be in keeping with personal preference: English, Western, Stock Horse are often the preferred styles and all are acceptable.

The standard for presentation should be followed to maintain the best possible example of the Quarter Pony exhibit.
Horses should be presented clean and trimmed where need be.
*Manes are to be clean, preferably plaited, short and banded, or hogged; left natural is acceptable however long manes do restrict the Judges ability to clearly view neck conformation and could be marked down.
*Tails to be clean, either left natural, plaited or pulled; trimmed so as not to drag on the ground, false tails permitted but not encouraged.
*Feet may be oiled or lacquered, either natural or blackened.
*Excess hair should be removed from jawline, legs must be clean, excess leg hair should be removed to permit the Judge to view conformation of legs clearly.
Sensory hairs preferably left intact > Please check show rules for events as some have adopted the EA ruling re sensory hairs.
Attire must be suitable for the show ring and complimentary to your horse; halter class attire can be of English style ridden or led attire, Western attire or Stock Horse attire.
Leather Halter, Bridle or in-hand bridles to suit your horse and attire.
