Registration
THE ASSOCIATION MAINTAINS THE FOLLOWING STUDBOOK REGISTERS FOR IDENTIFYING STOCK

(a) Foal Recording:
Foals up to the age of 2 must register for Colt, Filly or Gelding foal recording.
Four (4) photos must accompany the application with the applicable fee per foal.
A copy of a service certificate of proof of mating or copy of registration certificate from a respective breed association must
accompany the registration (if applicable)
All foal recorded Colts, Fillies or geldings must be upgraded upon reaching the age of 3 years (d.o.b as of 1 Aug)
The Foal Recording certificate will clearly display the date the foal is to be upgraded by. There will be a 2-month period allowed
from the 1st Aug to provide the required height verification (conditions apply)

(b) Upgrading from Foal Recording:
(1) Colts upgrading to Stallion must provide a current Veterinary Certificate, 4 new photos, completed upgrade form and the
applicable fee.
(2) Colts that have been upgraded with another breed registry will not be required to send a new Veterinary Certificate with the
upgrade form but must provide a copy of the relevant upgraded registration from its respective breed association.
(3) Colts which are gelded - a copy of the Veterinary Certificate stating gelding date must be supplied.
Four (4) new photos and return Colt registration papers to the association with the upgrade form and fee.
(4) Fillies upgrading to Mare must return completed upgrade form, 4 new photos and the applicable fee.
(5) Geldings upgrading from foal recording to adult must return completed upgrade form, 4 new photos and the applicable fee.

(c) Regular Register & Over Height Register:
(for Foal Recorded upgrades and new adult applications over the age of 2)
(1) Unregistered Stallions (stallions that are not registered with a recognized breed Society/ Association) will be required to pass a
veterinary inspection verifying the animal is sound and free of hereditary defect. Applicants must supply a signed and dated
Veterinary Certificate of soundness.
Four (4) photos must accompany the application with the applicable fee per stallion.
(2) Stallions that are registered and upgraded with another Breed Association will not be required to send a new Veterinary
Certificate with the registration application but must provide a copy of the relevant registration certificate from its respective breed
association.
Four (4) photos must accompany the application with the applicable fee per stallion.
(3) Mares and Geldings – must supply completed registration application forms, 4 photos and the applicable fee.
(4) All registrations aged over 2 but less than 7 will be required to submit a height verification (as of 1st Aug) The registration
certificate will display the date the final height verification is required by. There will be a 2-month period allowed from the 1st Aug to
provide the required height verification however showing rights are suspended until height verification. Applicants 7 years or more
will be required to send a height verification with the application.
(5) Any application shall be declined if the applicant shows any characteristics described (see QPAA Rules & Regulations)
(6) The committee reserves the right to accept or reject any application for registration or request a height check at any time.

(d) Breeding Purposes Only Register:
This register is for owners that wish to have Stallions or Mares approved by QPAA for breeding purposes to produce Quarter
Pony offspring. Any filly/mare or colt/stallion issued with a QPAA registration that goes over height may be transferred to the
Breeding Purposes register.
Stallions/Mares holding this registration may not show in Quarter Pony classes.
Prior to submitting this application we advise owners to contact QPAA to check on suitability for this register.
Photos
Photos must accompany registration application – QPAA accepts photos on photo quality paper or emailed images in JPG format.
These are examples of the 4 photos required:

Photo’s must have all parts of the horse clearly visible, heads in buckets, ears and feet missing etc are unacceptable.
